Dear Resident,
As you may know, your local Conservative Councillors and Campaigners have been relentlessly lobbying for Average Speed Cameras to be installed in several locations, including on West Boulevard, Wolverhampton Road South and Hagley Road West.
Despite a number of very serious accidents on these roads in recent months, the Labour-run Birmingham City Council have failed to install speed cameras.
Instead, they now propose spending thousands of pounds on vehicle activated speed signs, which we do not believe will be effective at tackling the speeding in our area.
As such, we have launched this survey to find out your views on whether vehicle activated signs would be effective and whether you would support calls to reduce the speed limits and install average speed cameras on these roads.
Thank you for taking the time to share your views with us.
Yours faithfully,
Bartley Green Conservatives: Cllr Bruce Lines, Cllr John Lines, Kerry Brewer
Harborne Conservatives: Cllr Peter Fowler, Harriet O'Hara
Quinton Conservatives: Cllr Dominic Stanford, Connor McCormack
Weoley and Selly Oak Conservatives: Claire Smith, Paul Smith
