RT HON TOM TUGENDHAT MBE MP
Tom Tugendhat MP serves as the Minister for Security and attends PM Rishi Sunak's Cabinet. His responsibilities include counter terrorism, domestic state threats, cyber and economic crime and serious and organised crime.
Before being elected as an MP, Tom served as an intelligence officer on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan with the Royal Marines, for which he received an MBE. He also worked for the Foreign Office, helping to set up the National Security Council of Afghanistan and the government in Helmand Province. On returning to the UK, Tom served as the military assistant and principal adviser to the Chief of the Defence Staff to the British Army. He remains an Army Reserve Officer.
He has been the MP for Tonbridge and Malling since 2015 and was the the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee from 2017 to 2022. Tom progressed to the third round of the Conservative Party Leadership Contest of 2022.
METRO MAYOR ANDY STREET CBE
Andy Street was elected as Mayor of the West Midlands in 2017 and secured his second term as Mayor in 2021. He is standing to secure a third term in office in 2023.
Andy grew up in Birmingham and started his career at John Lewis, where he was a graduate trainee. He became Managing Director of John Lewis in 2007 and stayed with the company until 2016.
Andy has worked with local and national government in economic development roles. He was chair of the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership between 2011 and 2016. He has also been lead non-executive director for the Department for Communities and Local Government as well as a member of the Prime Minister's Business Advisory Group.
In 2015, Andy was awarded a CBE for services to the economy. He also received the President's Award from the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce for his work in the region.
